Pescasseroli
The main town of the Abruzzo National Park
Pescasseroli is at the center of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, for centuries the starting point of the sheep transhumance along the Tratturo that leads to the Tavoliere delle Puglie.
In Pescasseroli it is possible to visit the remains of Castel Mancino, as well as ancient churches such as that of Saints Peter and Paul and noble palaces such as Palazzo Sipari.
Pescasseroli is an enchanting place where nature and architecture blend seamlessly. As you stroll through the streets of this town in the Abruzzo region, you can admire the beauty of the old stone houses, with their balconies covered with flowers overlooking the valley.
Details that make a trip here a moment of discovery, where unique photographs can be taken: an ancient portal, a courtyard full of flowers, a mullioned window made of dressed stone. The town's cultural initiatives include the Benedetto Croce National Culture Prize. The philosopher was born here in 1866 in the palace of his family, and the Pescasseroli Legge festival curated by writer Dacia Maraini.
